MOXIE Theatre

MOXIE is a nonprofit professional theatre with the mission of creating more diverse and honest images of women+ for our culture. Through the production of work by female-identified playwrights and an emphasis on providing opportunities for diverse female artists, designers and technicians, MOXIE has contributed to a more equal and inclusive art scene in San Diego for the past 19 years.

We are committed to continuing this work by hiring almost exclusively local artists, and at least 50% BIPOC artists in any given season, thus growing the diversity of San Diego's talent pool. We are lifting underrepresented voices by including Women, Trans, Nonbinary and Gender Non-conforming folx in our work. We are expanding our impact with more educational programs for kids from elementary school to college age, exposing them to a wide representation of people from all backgrounds on stage and behind the scenes.
